How to Place a Hold in PrairieCat

*You must login to place a hold

To Log In:
1. Type the numbers on the back of your library card, without dashes or spaces, in the box titled
“Library Barcode”
2. Type the last 4 numbers without dashes or spaces in the box titled “Pin.”
3. Click “Login.”

To Place a Hold:
1. Click the green “place hold” button.
2. Select the library where you want to pick up the item.
3. Click “Place Hold.”

How to Search PrairieCat

To Do a Basic Search:
1. Select to search all the Scott County Library System, the Eldridge Branch, or all Prairie Cat
Libraries.

2. From the drop box, select if you want to search for items by a specific author, or if you want to find a certain title, or materials on a specfic subject.

3. Type your search terms in the search box.

4. Click “Search.”

5. To Find where the item is located click the "more info" button to access item record. The numbers on the bottom left corner will tell you where the item is located. If the item is not checked out, on the right corner you will see "check shelf."
